Aloysia oblaceolata Moldenke (Verbenaceae)

Aloysia is a genus of the Verbenaceae family, a large family of plants, especially tropical trees, shrubs and herbs that has about 34 genera and 1,175 species. Many members of this family are famous because of their small flowers.
It is a shrub 1-3 meters tall. Within the genus, A. oblanceolata stands out for tooled form or oblanceolata of the leaf blade, a characteristic that gave rise to the name of the species.
It occurs only in Paraguay and southern Brazil. The plants sold at the Ver-o-Peso Market come from cultivation.
