Herb 1 to 3 meters tall, with an orange fruit up to 20mm long and red seeds.

Hedychium coronarium is native to Indonesia and the Himalayas, cultivated and naturalized in the tropics. It is considered as an invasive species, usually invade humid, with preference for marshy and full sun locations. For this reason, it is known as 'lily of the swamp' in the rest of the country.
