Herb 15-30 centimeters tall, with a fruit of 0.3 mm in diameter, globular, yellow.

Peperomia rotundifolia occurs in Suriname and Brazil, in the states of Amazonas, Pará, Acre, Pernambuco, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Parana, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.

Peperomias are grown for their ornamental foliage and sometimes for their attractive flowers (Peperomia fraseri). Except succulent species, they are generally easy to grow in a greenhouse.
