Herb of 0,15 to 0,5 meters high. It is sold at the Ver-o-Peso Market and presents big similarity with O.basilicum and O. africanum; it only differs from the smaller fruit cup, more hairy branches, with long and short trichomes.

It is original from Africa but cultivated in Tropical America and naturalized in Brazil.
