Justo Chermont

It was named in honor of Mr. Justo Leite Chermont. He was a Republican and governed the State in 18th century just after the victory of the movement in favor of the independence. He was the first Governor after the President of Brazil Marshal Deodoro took office in 1889.

Today the square is most know as CAN (Conjunto Arquitetônico de Nazaré) , because here it is where the Pilgrimage CIRIO finishes.
