The Quarubatinga is a large tree, up to 30m high and about 50cm in diameter.
It occurs in upland forests, mainly in the states of Pará and Amapá and also in Guyana.
Main uses are for civil constructions, boards, shingles, ceilings, inside of furniture, joinery, etc.
It blooms during the months from July to September and the fruits ripen in December-January.
