The Macacúba is a large tree reaching 30 meters high.
It occurs in the Amazon region and presents a moderately heavy wood very resistant to fungal and termite attacks.
The wood of these trees is used for civilian buildings, floors, furniture, musical instruments, clubs, landscaping, etc.
It blooms in March-April and fruiting occurs in October-December.
