Scientific Name:  Mangifera indica

Spread all over this city of Belem, it lives for over 100 years, it is considered one of the largest Fruit Tree in the World and reaches usually 30 meters Height (98 Ft). Its fruit is delicious, the pulp is yellow and the skin may be green, yellow or pink. It is common to see young boys climbing this tree to get this fruit. The first trees were planted over 100 years ago by Antonio Lemos (1843-1913), the City Mayor. Today the city has a popular name of  â??Mango Cityâ??.
