Very Little is known about this church. Construction started in 1761 and it was open in 1782. The design was done by Antonio Landi (1713-1791), an Italian Architect . According to historian Antonio Baena, the shape of the Church had to Resemble the Greek Cross, but in 1839 many modifications were added to its original shape that it no longer showed that form. 2 Great columns that once existed were replaced by 2 Steeples.

The Altar is made of Lioz Stone, brought from Portugal

In 1855 it was refurbished again.

the Architect Antonio Landi was buried in this church.
