Located in the Neighborhood of Umarizal, it was named in honor of liutenant Mr Diogo Vaz da Móia, who participated in the revolution for the independence on the 14th of April 1823. Even Though the independence of Brazil had occured in 1822, our State joined the independence movement only in 1823. It was the Last State to join the Independence Movement.
