Located in the Neighborhood Terra Firme, it was named to honor Mr Sr Lauro Nina Sodré e Silva,the first Governor elected Trhu voting by the people. He was in Office from 1891 to 1897.He was also elected in 1917, finishing his term in 1921. He was the only governor of the Country that did not follow Marshal Deodoro da Fonseca who Established The New Republic of Brazil in 1889.
