Sphagneticola trilobata

<< Voltar

Prostrate herb, fleshy branches.

Sphagneticola trilobata occurs mostly in the tropics and subtropics, absent in Africa. It occurs in the Americas from Mexico to Brazil, where it is common throughout the coastal strip, usually in moist environment.

The vedélia daisy is a native of the Brazilian coast, very fine and rustic.

Once it is an undergrowth herb, it is widely used as a lining to protect embankments and bounds.

It must be grown in full sun or partial shade in fertile soil, watered at regular intervals. Very rustic, it tolerates excessive moisture, flooding or drought, being quite suitable for beach environments.
