Jasminum officinale
It is a Liana with white flowers. It is originate from Asia and Africa, but very spread around Brazil.
The essential oil of Jasmin is used in aromatherapy. Its heavy and sweet smell is loved by everyone. The flower releases its smell at night. That is why the flowers are collected at night and they provide a small quantity of oil. The result is a very expensive oil, but it can be used in low concentrations.
The jasmin's aroma is described as calming and relaxing although it is not somniferous. It is indicated to depression and stress, as well as to some respiratory conditions. It is also indicated to sensitive skin and to sexual issues, since it is considerated as an afrodisiac.
It is used for hepatitis in the South of China.
