Tucumã is a palm tree that can reach up to 3 feet in height. The fruit has a skin with orange to yellow color and the pulp is yellow. It has a lot of fiber inside. Cakes, Ice cream and Pies are made with this fruit.

Brazilian researches from Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (EMBRAPA) have discovered its use in the production of BioDiesel. Also some studies by EMBRAPA indicate that the fruit is a very good anti-oxidant and produces oil similar to olive oil.

The fruit is abundant in the north region of Brazil.
