The coconut grows on the coconut palm which produces around 75 coconuts a year. It can be used for cooking or drinking. The wood is utilized in construction and the fibers to build baskets and robes. The cupped core of the coconut is filled with a white-colored pulp which is solid and fibrous and can be eaten raw. It contains about 50 % water which is reduced to 5% when it gets dried. The name of the dried one is called copra which is used to produce coconut fat, oil, milk and flakes. Another important aspect is that young coconuts imply coconut water which is colorless and tastes sweet.
