There are 2 types of kaki: red one which is sweet and soft and it is mostly eaten in Portugal and the orange one which is harder and tough and does not taste as sweet as the red one. It is possible to eat the kaki with the shell or out of it with a spoon. It has high concentration of vitamin, especially carotene. It is more popular in the south region of Brazil because it grows in colder climate. In the Asian region, people say that kaki helps against diarrhea and strengthens the stomach.
