The fruit out of this tree acts skin-irritating that is why they are gathered with a long pole. The white pulp is used in Asia as a staple food. When it is dried, it can be used as meal which has the following values: 75 % intensity, 31 % sugar, 5 % protein und 2 % fat. Immature and cooked fruits can be eaten as vegetables, only matured ones raw. The seeds are also eatable and can be roasted or cooked. There are 2 types: Apyrena which does not have any seeds and Seminiferous which has eatable seeds.
If the wood of the tree opens, there comes a white latex which can be used as glue.
