In order to produce the wine out of Acai, each fruit is soaked into a bucket of water and is smashed until only the seed is left. The less water is poured into the bucket, the denser the liquid becomes and the price is higher.

Açai is mostly found in the state of Pará and is really popular in Belém. The tree is found in fields with abundant water, that is, near river banks and islands surrounding Belém.

In Brazil it is found in the states of Pará, Amazon, Maranhão and Amapá.
